Featured Community Artist – Laura Barrett

Our community is proud to feature works by our local artists.

Our first featured artist is Laura Barrett.

Laura graduated from ACAD in 2005 with a degree in fine arts.
Her most recent pieces are created on wood using a 3 tone palette. Wood cutting creates the white, pyrography (wood burning) creates the black, and the natural wood grain creates the mid-tone. Currently, she concentrates on portraits of animals and people.

She has previously displayed at the Calgary Central Library, Ironwood, Blues Can, Winos, Pages, cSPACE King Edward, the Epcor Centre, and will be at the Central Library July 2020.

Her work can be viewed at and on Instagram @xpozezstudios

Community Hall Construction

You might have noticed some construction happening around the Community Hall. The deck has reached the end of its lifecycle and we are renovating to feature a larger space and ramp access. We apologize for any inconvenience and will do our best to ensure you still have access to the gardens, fields, and playground areas.

Volunteers Needed!

Cathedral Rink

Did you know that our community has TWO outdoor skating rinks? Aside from the rink at the community centre, there is a smaller rink by Cathedral Road. We’re looking for volunteers to help prepare and maintain the ice at our Cathedral rink.

Weather permitting, come join us with your snow shovel in the evening Thursday Feb 7. We’ll be clearing the snow in preparation for flooding.

Please contact Stacey at if you can help out on Thursday or in the future!
